Anybody running the Circuit Hero Shift Extender?

Hey guys,

I was about getting the shift level extender from circuit hero because i find that it's hard to reach the shift lever sometimes when it's in 5th. It's not a huge problem but there have been at least a couple of instances where i lost grip on the shift knob shifting in to fifth.

I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with this and if they ran in to any trouble hitting the dash. I'm mainly worried about the AC controls when in first gear.

My buddy and test fit his bubble knob in my car which is supposed to be 150mm long and it fit just about perfect. The circuit hero extender says it adds 90mm but i would have to add a knob on to that so it's hard to compare.

Anyone have any opinion on how it would look? I'm worried it may look off since you will see the lever, but i suppose it m ight not look as bad if i shell out the money for the one of the fancier finishes.

I have it, I love it. It comes all dulled down, I shined it up with compound wax. I've had it for 3 years now, I don't have any problems with it, and my knuckles do not hit the ac controls and its not in the way of anything

I have a skunk 2 shift knob. Thinking of getting the T1R knob though, might be better

Cool. Thanks man! I think this might be the best option for me since i like the look of a ball shift knob but want something a little taller.

No problem. you wont need anything taller, its perfect height. I'll try and take some pics for you and post them on here

I have a 50mm extender. I didn't want something four feet long on my ultra-short shifter.

I ended up getting the circuit hero and a blox 490. Not sure how i feel about it after installing it. The knob has enough clearance but my fingers hit the AC controls in first and possibly third. Might drive with it and see how i like it.

I've seen a few people mention nicer shift knobs being countersunk. What does this mean? I just went with the Blox shift knob for now due to budget concerns and it seems fine. A lot heavier than i expected, but i like it on it's own. Not sure how i feel about it with the extension.


My one concern was weather or not the heavier weight and the taller knob are going to put to much stress on the shift mechanisms. Anyone know if this becomes a problem? Are there any shift lever bushings i could look in to replacing with stiffer ones?

I have the neo chrome one in my GE with a weighted skunk2 knob and if I'm not paying attention sometimes I bash my knuckles into the ac controls haha

Yeah, I wasn't really digging it. I'm just running the Blox knob on it's own now. Everything was to wobbly and i actually didn't like how little force it took. Made everything feel weird. Oh well, you don't find out what you like until you pay to try it i guess.

I'm probably going to hold on to the extender for if i get a second car for autocrossing or tracking. Maybe ill find it more useful in that scenario, but right now im just not sure i like the feel of it for my daily.
