Getting Power for Laptop / iPad in ACC mode
Getting Power for Laptop / iPad in ACC mode
Hello!
I would like to recharge laptop/ipad in my car when its off
I know its a new battery and strong
but i dont want to de-charge it fully
(i mean by putting key in acc)so i thought of getting a splitter - one side putting the voltage meter and the other a converter
I was thinking like this
Car Charger -> 1 to 2 Splitter - Voltage Reader
\ Charger Adapter
I was looking at these two products
Amazon.com: NeewerŽ Mini 12V/24V LED Display Digital Car Volt Meter Vehicle Voltage Gauge: Everything Else
Amazon.com: BESTEK Dual 110V AC outlets and Dual USB 3.1A 300w power inverter car dc 12v to 110v ac inverter dc adapter laptop charger notebook adapter dc charger ac adapter usb charger MRI3011BU: Car Electronics
Any advice would be great.
Also - what is the min. voltage required to start the car?

Most inverters, including the one you posted, have a feature to beep and shut off if the battery voltage drops too far. I'm not a battery expert, but I think using your battery like this will shorten its life. Also, I haven't tried it on my Fit, but on my old car, even with a very low load (like using the USB ports), my inverter would complain either immediately or soon after running it on battery power.
You might want to look at a DC power adapter for your laptop. It will be much more efficient, and won't drain the battery nearly as fast as an inverter.
