DIY on changing the USDM Interior Light to
JDM LED PLASMACLUSTER Air Purifier Interior Light.

The main problem was, this kit came with just Operating Manual (In Japanese of course)
and NO Installation Manual at all !!!

It took me a while before I figure everything...
Ok here we go:

1. All the Parts contain in the kit:



2. Following Factory Service Manual to open the Original Light Cover with Screw Driver:



3. Here is the base of the Original Light:



4. Remove the 2 screw to remove the base:



5. The Car wiring only consist of 2 wire so we need to insert the Pigtail
(the BLACK wire)
that came with this kit into the CAR side socket connector.
This is basically to provide GROUND to the LIGHT. On the original light,
the ground were embedded onto the base of the light,
but the LED one do not have that so we need this pigtail.



6. I screw the Ground from that Pigtail behind the NEW BASE,
and then screw the SECOND ground that is the ground of the Plasma Cluster system to the other screw and then connect the socket.
but there is problem the unit would not attached to this new base
since the connector socket is on the way...
turn out I make a mistake,
so please note of the socket position on this pictures is WRONG:




7. So I open again the 2 screw and REMOVE the NEW BASE that came with this LED kit,
then I look behind it and turn out there is a SLOT where you can PUT/
Embedded the SOCKET CONNECTOR !!!
Also notice how I run the BLACK Ground Pigtail on the left side of this picture (that is ground for the light) then notice
on the right side, I round the Ground for the Plasma cluster system



8. Now I screw the New Base to the headliner,
notice the two screw are on top of the ground connector (both left and right screw):



9. Then I install the unit and Screw one more time to firmly attached it to the base.



10. Then I install the FINAL COVER:



11. This is how the LED light up when the door open or when you set it permanently ON:



12. This is with the LED light off and just Plasma Cluster Air Purifier in
HIGH Setting (yes they have lower blower setting too).



Again,
the tricky part is that there are 2 different ground cable that you should
attached for LED light and Plasma Cluster otherwise they would not work.

This Plasma Cluster Air Purifier were suppose to clean the interior from odor, germ etc etc...

Interesting. Ive heard of it before. Maybe ill do this too one day if the part is not too expensive. Can you tell me how much it was?

and then there is shipping fee (I use Tenso), but the box is small so it should be around $30 perhaps max... I shipped this one with other order,
so I don't know how much if I just order this item.

 

Everyday,
I often confuse (especially when it is at night)
which button is to turn on the dome light and which button is to turn on
the Plasmacluster Air Purifier,

one day, I found a small red button on my car seat,
and I wonder where it came from...
but I found that I can glue it to the button on the dome light to mark
the Plasmacluster air purifier button...

after that I keep on searching for the source of that small button,
and turn out it is a screw cover on a scissor that I use when I cut the headliner...

so I try to bought the same scissor but with different button color
to mark the light switch, and I finally found a blue one,
so basically I buy a new scissor just to get the screw cover hahaha

here it is with both button glued:



Actually I have to buy 3 scissor since the blue scissor came in a package with a pink and green scissor...
so I know have 4 scissor (with the red one that I bought initially) hahaha
