After-Market stereo
Hi all,
I am looking to install a Sony XAV-AX100 in my 2010 Fit so I can use Android Auto, and possibly a back up camera. I am gonna get the Metra adapter for double din. I wanted to know what the process of doing this looks like. Is it basically plug and play? Will I need to solder anything?
Thanks!

If you have a black dash, I have the OEM Nav surround that you can have for free as long as you pay shipping. Everyone says the Metra doesn't match the dash finish so I went with OEM. I had the same head unit you're getting installed with this trim. No soldering required, just the regular wiring you would do for any head unit. I also have the wiring adapter for the head unit and steering wheel controls. If interested, pm me.

Sadly I have a silver dash, and I feel that the black is too dark for my tastes. It is also gonna be a birthday gift technically and I dont wanna complicate it for the giver lol. I appreciate the offer though!
As far as the wiring adapter, what is that? and do I need to buy it separately?

AX100 owner here. Parts you’ll need:
- Metra 70-1729 - connects sony harness to Honda harness
- Metra 40-HD10 - connects factory antenna to the head unit.
- [optional] a flush mount usb panel if you want a factory look. Something like this
Notes:
- no soldering required. You’ll want to use crimp connectors to tie the harness together. Just match color to color.
- You’ll need 12v switched to power the antenna. Connect the blue cable coming out of the sony harness directly to the antenna adapter. Leave the blue cable coming out of the metra harness adapter unconnected. Despite what the metra package says, Honda does not have a 12v switched line coming out of the factory harness for the blue wire.
- Tie the green parking brake cable to any ground.
- Once you get everything installed, update your firmware on the head unit. Fairly simple procedure: https://www.sony.com/electronics/sup...loads/00015662

I just recently did this install , wish I did a write up but I didn’t think people here needed it... it’s super easy. Don’t overthink it.
The hardest part was running the wire through that rubber hosing in the trunk door.
Pm me if you have any questions. I highly recommend Posi-twist connectors!
