Honda Fit sport audio

hello I just have a few questions about my Honda Fit sport. I’m looking to put in a double din touchscreen headunit and was told I have to buy a whole new dash kit I was wondering if that’s true or if I can just take out the stock touchscreen headunit that’s in it now and slide the new one in it’s place any help would be appriciative. I’ve looked everywhere for answers but can’t seem to find anything on it.

If you already have double din dash, the radio is "ISO" mount. You should be able to remove the side brackets from the OEM double DIN, and mount to any double DIN aftermarket head unit.

BEWARE to observe the max screw depth on the sides of new unit (most units come with a bag of properly sized screws to mount).

Call Crutchfield if you want to know which head units come with the hardware.

All you should need is a wiring harness adapter kit, also available via Crutchfield.

FYi, there is also a tiny screw on the bottom of the entire radio assembly which must be accessed from below.

I watched a video on YouTube, and it was a breeze.

I made the mistake of keeping the factory touchscreen unit and adding a sub, and then discovered the factory unit only goes down to 50hz. My bass stinks. I am about to swap a 2x DIN aftermarket unit in, myself. I may do a writeup.

Awesome thank you so much. I kept the factory touchscreen in as well added an loc and put subwoofers in and the bass is really crappy since it’s pulling power from the rear speakers. I just got a Sony doubledin radi model number WX-GT90BT so I’m going to try and out that in tomorrow hopefully I won’t need the new dashkit I had ordered and cuz use the stock doubledin dashkit and get my money back for the one I ordered

I put in a new double-din in my 2012 Sport. I didn't have the OEM touch screen, so i got a new trim piece. I ordered the install kit from crutchfield which included wiring harness, antenna adapter, and the trim piece. Totally worth it.

I would just go that route.
