2009 Fit Sport swaybar questions

Hi, All:

I haven't changed the spark plugs in my Fit yet. It has 243,000 miles on it. I really should probably do that.

But I digress.

1) How many mm is the stock bar?
2) Is it a wimpy hollow tube,. or is it a solid steel bar?

I only want ro replace it if it will make a noticeable difference.

Thanks!

Wow, that many miles on the original plugs is that what you are saying? Hard to believe the car is still running. Would like to see a picture of those plugs once they are removed.
The rear sway bar is a solid bar, not sure what the diameter is but it’s small. I installed one of the Progress rear bars several years ago. It made a difference with corner handling and body roll. Just depends on your driving habits and how aggressively you drive the car. If you have the original rear shocks that might be money well spent rather than the sway bar. They are pretty easy to replace on the Fit.

Your Fit has a twist bean suspension. That serves as the anti roll bar. The Sport has an additional piece welded into place to make it twist less. You won't remove it. The progress bar does make a noticeable difference, but there MIGHT be a firmer option from Eibach or someone, I'm not sure - the installation is same for both tho.

The stock sway bar is not removed. The Progress sway bar makes a big difference. It does make the ride stiffer at the back though. It is not too stiff.

Not poking fun, just having it.
....twist bean

Oh, and many folks have reported that the progress bar makes a big difference. Personally I havent found the stock base body roll to affect performance. I mean.. when I jack up the right rear, the left rear goes up too. even the right front a little bit. I gotta put the wheel chocks up front.. man, lifting this thing freaks me out a little as a result. Fresh shocks did enough for me, but mods are always fun!

Hahahaha You ever try to twist a dried bean? It can't be done! The ideal material for structural rigidity.
