Gauge Cluster Question

I have a Canadian Fit and i am wondering if i can change the fuel economy gauge to a us mpg display. currently mine reads in liters per 100km but i would like it to read in MPG. Can i just swap to a us piece or am i unable to do this?

Buh-bump.

Thinkin'.
And reading! Since the instant mpg readout is calculated by the ECU utilizing information from several sensors, I dont think you could simply bypass the ecu to overcome incompatability. With that in mind, success seems unlikely, but!! Its all sent in current, no? Then its up to the gauge to translate the signal into whatever. We might be able to figure it out by more thoroughly inspecting the associated wiring to see if its simplistic enough that we could isolate the signal voltage and compare it between the US and CAN models to check for compatibility.

The idea of taking the dash apart is such a downer, hahahah. Hopefully someone does know, as the simplest way would be trying it, seeing if the lil connectors need to be swapped, ect.

Hell, I wonder if thats an option listed in the owners manual.. I'd check but.. its cold outside

Hey Invalid. Your US gauge will read in US gallons not Imperial so what is the point of switching?

Personally, I would like a Speedo showing MPH vs KPH and not these bilingual crappy ones we have.

Why don't you use an app like Torque and use a obd adapter? Or a HUD through the old port?
