I have a '10 Fit Sport with a manual transmission with around +126K miles.
Two weeks ago I was cleaning my car when I noticed an odd piece of plastic on the driver floorboard; pictured below. Thinking nothing of it I just put it in my cup holder to dispose of it later. When I drove my car to dry off the water I noticed that my cruise control was not engaging. Started thinking of how much is it going to cost me to fix it and what could have caused it. Piece of the switch stop that I found on the driver floorboard.
I was doing research on this website along with consulting DR. GOOGLE and found no answers that pertained to my dilemma. Yesterday I was sitting at work and started to think about that piece of plastic mentioned above. Looked under my dash and pushed the clutch in to find a hole where a switch stop would have been. Sure as s**t; the plastic piece fits the hole perfectly. Location of where a plastic switch stop should be.
So, I made a temporary patch; piece of aluminium and some 3M double sided tape. Went for a check ride and what do you know? Cruise control started to work like a charm. My temporary fix until I find a replacement. It is a piece of aluminum and double sided tape.
I wrote this in hopes that if someone else has an issue with their cruise control to take a look at the clutch pedal "disengaged?" switch stop.
