Spare Tire and TPMS

Hello,

I bought an OEM wheel (no tire) from Ebay (from a wrecked 2011 Fit); the wheel arrived with the valve stem with attached TPMS sensor. I am going to mount one of my old Continental tires that I saved from a recent tire change, and keep it as a full size spare. Does anyone know if I'll have any dash lights come on if I keep the spare in the same spot where the doughnut spare was?

Thanks

I don't think the spare even comes with a TPMS sensor anyway. They only turn on after 20 or so mph (the wheel needs to be spinning) so it isn't going to matter anyway.

A. the spare does not come with a TPMS sensor.

B. The system only stores four TPMS sensors at a time, so a fifth cannot be added.

So, in case of a the compact spare or a full sized “spare” with a TPMS sensor, the light will come on shortly after using it while your regular tire has a flat. I guess it’s encouragement to get that flat fixed.
