Where the hell is the MES connector on a GE / 2009 Fit?
Where the hell is the MES connector on a GE / 2009 Fit?
My airbag light is on because I removed pass seat and used car with pass seat removed (even though I disconnected battery before removing pass seat and waited over 20 minutes before removing seat connectors and did same before reconnecting seat).
So I have a device that I made that plugs into MES for work on a CRV -- much nicer than using a paper clip to jump MES terminals BUT I can not find the MES connector on the '09 Fit.
At first I thought that this connector was attached to the bottom of interior fuse box (because this connector two leads, is yellow and leads are wrapped in yellow tape) but I see that this is not a dummy connector so I do not think that this is the MES connector that you use to reset srs light.
Somebody here must have done this job already.
I'll post of photo tomorrow a.m. of fuse box to show the connector which I think is incorrect one.
Perhaps the MES connector is wrapped up with tape attached to some looming above kick panel / under or near steering column?

Well I found two possibilities. One is on the fuse box itself, but the picture referenced is from an '08, no idea if it's similar for the '09, haven't looked at my fuse box in a while.
The other isn't called a MES but it's what the second gen calls the diagnostic port.
I'm going to take another look today.
The MES connector is not the DTC / OBD port. It does look like the two-lead yellow connector that you show plugged into you 2008 fuse box.
The in cabin fuse box on an 09 is different than on the 08 (I'll post photo later) and as of now I see no yellow connector plugged into the box itself. I do see a yellow two-lead connector attached to the bottom of the box, but that connector is plugged into another connector which has wires emanating from it so it seems that it this is NOT the MES connector because, as I understand it and based upon my experience with MES connector on CR-V, the MES connector is either just loose with no connection to another connector OR plugged into a fuse box with an empty cell. Before I open up that yellow connector attached to back of fuse box (very, very difficult to access, btw), I'll look around wire harmesses below steering column to see if I can find connector taped to harness. Photos to follow later.
I can not believe how difficult it is to find this MES connector in this application. It was a breeze on CR-V. Further, I even have 09 electrical circuits book for this vehicle and, of course, the abbreviation MES is totally absent. Perhaps if I studied book for 2 hours I might find something.

I hope I will not also need a weight sensor reset!
