Hey all, long time lurker, first (maybe second) time poster here.

Noticed a vibrating noise coming from underneath the Fit and saw this piece (as shown in photo) was hanging off. Noticed that there must have been corrosion for this to fall of in this manner. Can anyone tell me what the proper name of this is?





I’m not overly savvy with cars, but this seems like something I should be able to order in and install with a little help, no?

-can temporarily fix with a ss worm clamp until you get a new heat shield installed.

 

You might want to soak those bolts with some penetrating fluid each day while you wait for your new shield to arrive. It might help them come out more easily.

 

Amen, especially if you live above the rust belt. I've heard good reviews.about Mouse Milk for penetrating oil.

 

That is a heat shield for your catalytic converter. They tend to rust right around the bolts that secure them to the car.

Can’t really identify it but it looks like some I have and I think there from the old underwater sets so hopefully that can help narrow it down
