Help finding 2012 CV axle

My 2012 base Fit's right cv axle snapped due to corrosion under the rubber boot. My mechanic's having trouble finding a replacement part. The 2 aftermarket cv axles he's tried so far are supposed to fit the car but end up being about 2 inches short. Has has anyone else experienced this issue? The dealership wants $780 for an oem axle. I'm assuming the left side isn't far behind the right so I'm looking to buy both sides. here's a pic of the snapped axle

Been there, done that.

Bernardi Honda has them for $623 or so.

https://www.bernardiparts.com/Honda/...assembly=17387 for AT.

https://www.bernardiparts.com/Honda/...assembly=17386 for MT.

It was a little bit cheaper when I bought them though, back in 02/2015.

You had the same issue finding an aftermarket axle?

No, I didn't bother going aftermarket.

Just meant that I also snapped my axle, even in the same place (under that damper).

I hear it's pretty common. I'm hoping to find an aftermarket replacement for both sides. 1.2k for oem vs 100$ aftermarket...

I got one through Pep Boys...Import Direct. The first one was bad out of the box. After installing the 2nd one the output shaft seal started leaking. The other side will last forever.

so here's an update. Can anyone confirm the length difference on 2012-2013 Fit axles? I can't find measurements for the oem parts online.

The part numbers from the dealership are

-pass = 44305tk6a11 -driver = 44306tk6a11

and were only used in the 2012 and 2013 Fits

the original axles measure about

-pass = 25.5inch -driver = 27.5 inch

all the aftermarket axles I can find online that say they fit 2009-2013 but the measurements in the specs are

-pass = 22.4inch -driver = 25.3inch

I found a place nearby that will order in a used pair. Hopefully will get them in today, are actually from a 2012 or 2013, and aren't already corroded

I hope you got honda to reimburse you. This was a recall.
