Help finding a 2nd Gen CV Axle
Hello all, it's my first time on the forums. I recently bought a used 2012 base model automatic Honda Fit. My Fit needs its passenger side CV Axle replaced due to a torn boot. I'm having trouble even finding the right part!
Every part catalogue I look at shows a "full length" CV axle for the passenger side that goes from the wheel hub straight into the transmission. So this is what I bought for the replacement.
What I noticed on the lift was the passenger side actually uses a center support style split CV axle, where the CV axle goes from the wheel hub into a support bearing, then a separate shaft assembly leads to the transmission. It looks like this underneath...
It is so hard to find the correct CV axle! Every part catalogue directs to the wrong style CV axle. I need the shorter style with a female end that will connect to the support bearing. Here is the Diagram from Honda...
The correct part is #4 on the diagram and Honda wants anywhere from $500-$700 for the axle! Has anyone else experienced trouble finding the correct axle? Any idea where I can find it and be sure it's the correct one?
Thanks
