Help diagnosing weird front end noise (w/ audio/video)
Hey guys,
Last week I started getting a weird noise coming from the front left of my 2010 Honda Fit base.
It just passed 150k miles on it.
I recorded two youtube videos, one from engine bay, one closer to wheel... Anyone have any clues what this is?
It doesn't happen when I put weight on the front left/right to bounce the suspension.
It happens when turning the steering wheel all the way left and all the way right. And the noise appears to specifically be from the front left.
Any tips or things I should check let me know. I can't seem to find any similar front end sound from the bunch of videos on youtube diagnosing front end issues.

Check out your strut mount. I lost my mind when replacing my suspension and rubbed some grease on my strut mounts thinking it'd help prolong their lives. The resulting sound was... Discrete. Which is to say individually separate and distinct. Was like, creaking noises and thunks, and i couldn't pinpoint it because the sound resonated through the body of the car. Your sound is more high pitched, but the mounts I created the fault with were new/soft.
You could try using a paint pen or whatever to make al alignment mark from the upper strut mount's bushing down to the body, then turn the wheel and see if there's any changes. may be more noticable many movements. It sounded to me like rubber slipping and then regaining traction.
Winter is coming
the extra-cold mornings may be amplifying/creating the fault if it lines up roughly with the onset of colder mornings. We're certainly seeing it here with starters and I'm stoked to see that this isn't a starter thread.
