It's easiest if you remove the grill. It's just a matter of removing the connectors using a sharp bent screwdriver or other. Just pop up the round button in the center of the connector, and it will come right out.
You might want to get some new connectors if you screw some of them up
First remove the top panel over the grill.
Then remove the grill.......there's a screw on each side behind the grill on the top.......use a short stubby screwdriver, or a bent one to remove those from the back.
Then there's 4 connectors on the bottom inside.......you can get to those and remove them
The grill slides out forwards.......
I'll add some pics later, but it's pretty simple.
I used a VERY sharp knife and a Dremel cutoff wheel......but you can do it all with a SHARP paring, or pocket knife.
You need to make a notch at the bottom of the grill......and another notch on the bumper.........
Take your time and keep tryout fitting......you want the sensor to fit in there SNUG.
Once you have your notches, feed the sensor up from the bottom through the slot.
Right now it's in there pretty snug........but I may epoxy it in at the bottom.
I beveled the bottom of the little triangular notch for the wire.
Once I put some good sealer/conditioner on the grill, it will make it pretty black.......and should be pretty stealthy after that.
Here are the 2 outside sensors installed.
Used a Dremel, and a Scalpel blade that I heated with a propane torch to do the long cuts.
Will epoxy these using the top side........
All sensors need to be LEVEL and pointed Straight Forward.
They also need an unobstructed view ahead.
The first pic is of a thin Redwood Visor extension that I mounted....Used 2 dabs of silicone on each side, and a dab of polyurethane construction adhesive in the center. Always bugged me that the visor would not adjust low enough to block the sun when close to the horizon. I used 2 thin sheets that I glued together to prevent warping.
Next is the Radar Detector Installation
