microphone cable to sun visor

Greetings all. I've got a head unit to put into my fit with one of those cabled microphones to install on the sun visor.

Anyone have a best route to run that thing to be out of the way of all air bags and the like?

Seems like it would be easier to install it somewhere else if that is possible.

Usually the cable they give with those mics is pretty long. I routed mine from the radio, inside the dash to the steering column area and just hung it on whatever was available over to the drivers door. From there I hid it behind the body trim and worked it up to the headliner. From there the headliner has a gap between it and the windshield. Just route the wire in that gap until you are in the middle, then I put the clip on the headliner - the gap made it easy with mine. It's stayed in place with no problem. The hardest part is moving the trim back to allow the wire to be stuffed behind it by the door. If you get panel tools it'll help with pulling back that rubber trim.
