HELP! Rough idle! 08 Fit Sport A/T

I seen this reoccurring topic, but I have to ask!

Honda Fit keeps stalling on cold starts and even worse when it is colder temperature outside!

I've replaced the spark plugs, check the coil packs, new air filter, clean the throttle body, ran a few fuel injector cleaners through it Chevron techron.
Nothing this thing idles rough and want to die if I put it in drive or reverse when it's warming up...

The mechanics I've looked at swear up and down that valve adjustments can't be that problem... So I look at them and say why can't you find another problem then. 🤷🤷🧐

Yes. If the valves are getting too tight they also don't make any noise. In fact, my GD and GE have pretty much sounded the same before and after the valve adjustment.

Also ensure that spark plugs are gapped right and that the coil packs that you used are OE Hitachi or Denso only.

Okay, 3 shops tell me I'm mistaken. That I'm dumb founded and don't know what I'm talking about!
I asked to look at the Live data of the Fuel trims and they wouldn't do it.

Most shops don't even know that you should perform a valve lash adjustment on these engines. Even some dealers are confused until they look it up.

The GD Fit is one of the easiest to do an adjustment on. Unlike the 2nd gen GE you don't have to worry about taking the cowl off.

removing spark plugs will make it easier to rotate the engine internals via by rotating the harmonic balancer. no compression when plugs are removed. if you remove them, make sure you re-torque em to 20 ft.lbs.

I had this issue and tried a bunch of things. I did valve adjustment at the same time as replacing the ignition coil pack and that seemed to do it.

I had previously replaced the spark plugs, cleaned 02 sensor, replace map sensor. The spark plug replacement seemed to alleviate the issue but only for a few days.

You might have just 1 or 2 bad coils which you can swap around and try new ones to identify them but I just replaced all 4 to be safe.

Lastly I had this issue for the better part of a year before the car ever threw and engine code. Forget the code but it was a misfire code and told me the cylinder.

Ymmv but maybe something to check if you have exhausted other options.
