Exclamation Random vibration and low hum noise once in a while.

Random vibration and low hum noise once in a while.
2012 @127k mi, automatic. I haven't changed the spark plugs yet. Brakes were done at@80k mi.

I get this random vibration and low hum noise while driving once in a while, it's hard to re-create. It seems If i drive it hard it will start. Driving hard as in floor it once or twice and brake hard. Next start cycle nothing, everything works fine until it randomly does it again. I try to keep in mind what I did to get this noise but no luck recreating it. I don't konw what to explain to the mechanic if I can't get consistent way to recreate it.

Any thoughts?

Bump

Anything? Mechanic can’t replicate it and it happens once in a while.

Where's it coming from? Are you sure it doesn't trigger at a certain rpm or speed? Do brakes cancel said noise out if reapplied? There was another thread on noise quite recently you could check for ideas.

I got it again this morning.
  • Car @2K rpm
  • It starts up is around 50+ mph
  • Certainly when the car is rolling
  • Definitely not engine at this point bc I can stop the car and no shakes or noise, has to be in the wheels somehow.
  • Braking cause additional shakes, and they also seems a bit more squeaky than usual. also noisy if i let of them and press in at a light.
  • This brake related?
Last brake job was at 75-80k miles now car is at 126k, am I overdue?

The car shakes/vibrates when braking?

If so, yeah, brakes need attention. Vibration when braking is likely due to warped rotors.
