Need to make a decision.
Need to make a decision.
My 2010 Fit is either going to a new home via trade-in....or staying where she is for another winter. Not sure which way to go.
I put a deposit on a 2022 Civic Touring Hatchback today. It will take a month or so before it comes in. Sonic Pearl Gray with the 6 speed m/t

I think you've already got this one figured, big boss. If the present car fills its role, I couldn't imagine a need for replacement unless it's reaching a point wherein larger maintenance items are about to come up and you'd rather shift your investment to a new prospect.
The GE ain't fast or pretty, but it's a solid, budget friendly, and practical driver's car. I intend to keep mine. If budget ever opens up enough I'd prolly get a WRX or check out Honda's new bodied ridgeline truck (much less embarrassing now). My first buy would probably be a newish KTM 690, either the enduro or the smcr. I've yet to see any evidence to indicate someone's had a bad time on that bike.

After thinking on it more...I'll prob keep it until next spring and then decide. It's been a perfectly reliable car for the 5 years that I've owned it. It now has 249,000 miles on it.
I was noticing just the past few days that it seems to be running stronger than ever....might be the cooler weather.
The trade-in value would prob only be 2K or less because of the high miles. The down-side of keeping it is the garage space.
If it wasn't a m/t...I would not hesitate to trade-in.
The Civic is a 6 speed manual also.

Highly recommend trying the online sites to see what they offer. Check Carvana, vroom, shift, etc. Carvana offered a pretty crazy price for one of my parents old cars. Transaction when they picked it up was like than 30min and they provided check in hand.
A flat-4 with 4-wheel drive? Is this the same person I've known all these years?
Now that sounds better.
I just now went to the Carvana site and entered my Fit's info to get a 'selling price' to them.

my ASS! It doesn't pay to get rid of the fit apparently
Now, MC, you're right. I don't know if I could stomach a flat engine. But at the price-point I'd kick myself for buying something that wouldn't bring big smiles. Instead of a tachometer, the new KTM has a champagne sprayer.

My dealer refused to sell me a KTM. He said you actually have to know what you're doing to ride one. He suggested I look into a 50cc scooter and an afternoon nap.
I’m in a similar spot of trying to decide whether to keep the Fit and try to make it exactly what I want or simply buy something newer and fancy (by my standards like a 2019 corolla hatchback)
Good luck!
Good luck!
The most compelling pitch I heard for the Subaru was from my father. That car doesn't speak to my logic at all, but I remember how excited he was after he went for a test drive in one a few years back.
My first and only bike has been the XR650L. At 5'11 I had to choose which big toe I could set down when I stopped. The first time I rode it I went out of the driveway, across the street, hit a curb, fell over, and the left peg knocked a hole in the crankcase cover.
It's been a good number of years since then, and I'm still not a great rider, have laid it down and lost my shoes in the process 😂 but living is "jumping off cliffs and building your wings on the way down."
