Immobilizer chip on key?
My 2013 Fit Base model key is falling apart. I tried digging through all the threads but none answered my question. I don't see an "RFID" chip in here just the part labelled 72147-SWA-A0. So does that mean I don't have an immobilizer and could just swap the key blade and electronics to something
and be good to go? My instincts says yes and that I'm asking a really dumb question so thanks in advance.
You do have an immobilizer key.
Personally I think you're overthinking this a little too much. If all functions of your current key work but your plastic key case is broken, that replacement key case is what you need. If functions of your current key don't work, this basic key case isn't going to make the key work any better.
Place your cursor on the upper left part of the ad you attached, and it basically answers the question I think you're asking. It basically instructs you how to remove the working parts of your current key, and how to install them in their replacement key case. Good luck.

Does the 2012 Honda Fit have the chip integrated in the motherboard? Dealer wants to sell me entire thing, with blade. I’d rather try doing it myself, if it’s just a shell replacement. Just want to make sure chip is integrated and not separate. Thanks.
For my 2013 it was integrated. I'd assume the same for a 2012.
Yup ordered that exact one. The silicone cover was on Amazon too, just search silicone Honda fit fob cover. I think it showed as a recommended item when I got the new shell.
Does the new shell feel sturdy enough to you, when turning over the key?
Open it up and take some pics

Edit: Yes it does have an immobilizer but that is all built into the circuit board of the key and you're not modifying it in any way. You're just swapping the nice tidy plastic cover. It really is as easy as one screw. I will add that the new shell that you're buying is not the same high quality as the original. I'm about two years into mine and I may need to swap it again in another year or so.

That will work perfect. I did the same thing for my key. Works like a champ today. You might as well install a new battery in it too while you have it open.
