Did this sound clip play when you found out this hidden compartment?

What did you need to access?

I think that compartment is for sound absorption

I was merely wonder why it exists, without any valid visible reason to be there. Considering there were probably better, cheaper & easier ways to soundproof that area, when the car was designed.

From the looks of it, it looks like its coming from two perspectives. Impact absorption and Sound absorption.

If you can think of a better design that will absorb both more efficiently I would get in touch with the Honda engineers.

It holds your door panel in place. Without it, if you pushed on your door panel from inside, it would move against the door, no?

If the rear doors design featured the same dent, that might be plausible.
