2 New Stereos Later, Bluetooth Skipping Remains
2 New Stereos Later, Bluetooth Skipping Remains
Here's a puzzle for you. After almost 12 years of use, the auxiliary jack on my '11 was going bad (crackling, etc.). I had a Bluetooth receiver connected to the jack (the '11 has no Bluetooth in the stereo) so I could play music from my iphone. I decided it was time to buy an aftermarket stereo (Kenwood) with Bluetooth. Got one from Krutchfield, installed, works well, phone connects via Bluetooth just fine, but a new problem arose -- the music will skip or stutter for a few seconds. This happens on and off in no discernable pattern. Can play fine for 20 minutes, or less than 1 minute between occurrences. I figured it was the stereo. It was under warranty, so I exchanged it for a new one (this time a Pioneer). Problem remains! Perhaps it is the phone? Well, the phone connects just fine to two different headphones and two other stereos. But just to make sure I went to an Apple store and had them run a diagnostic on the phone -- everything checks out. The apple person had no idea other than maybe the music files were corrupted or there was interference in the car. I don't think it is the music files since the problem happens whether I play saved music or stream via Spotify.
I'm stumped. Thoughts?

Perhaps it's something to do with the way the tracks were recorded?
When I first used my 10 year old MP3 tracks on my new Nakamachi Head Unit ( HU ), via USB. I discovered that they played in random order, despite what I instructed the HU. Which meant that I had to rename the tracks in a more modern format. A simple process, with a new PC app. The second problem, was that the new HU found TWO tracks of the same, for each & every unique track I copied to the USB. Making playback have gaps of a couple of seconds between each track, it recognized as a genuine MP3.
