I have a low mileage 2009 Fit Sport with original radio (no navigation) which will be my last car and would like to upgrade the radio to a unit that would have SiriusXm, Bluetooth, phone etc, but because of the long slope of the dash and windshield I am reading lots of negative reviews for touchscreen units Din 2 because of the glare. I’m wondering if anyone has successfully installed an aftermarket unit and could post which one and pictures.
I have a 2010 also and upgraded 2 years ago. Makes a huge visual difference inside the cabin, if you want to go all out install a backup camera. Buy the harness adapter for whatever head unit you get so you can plug and play.
That looks sooo good! Although, I am old fashioned and still like to use outdated media such as compact discs.
That is what my son said too when we installed the same unit in his car. My response was "you own one CD. One. I will rip it to mp3 and put it on a USB stick for you." I ripped all of my old CDs years ago so have my entire collection available on a single USB stick now I know there is a quality difference, but my tinnitus ringing ears cannot tell.
I paid about $370 for the unit that came with a Metra fit kit. Looks great , has Apple Carplay ( through USB) also does Android mirroring.Plays CD's DVDs( when parked) controls Sirius radio ( you have to add a tuner, about $60 ) AM/FM radio and will support a backup camera ( which was more of a pain than it was worth to install). Here's a couple of pics before and after I got the correct trim ring on the face ,( it was included in the kit , I just missed it)

Yeah, I was contemplating adding a backup camera when I installed my head unit but was not sure how necessary it was with the good visibility of the Fit. I will probably do one eventually anyway, but figured it was not important for now.
thank you both for answering my questions. The pictures look great and the one with black trim and one with grey trim both look fantastic, it’s gonna be a coin toss to decide. Going with a Sony CarPlay 6.95 unit that is discontinued and they are discounting. As stated the Fit has such great visibility and no blind spot, one of the main reasons I bought it, that I will pass on he backup camera for now. I’ll post photos was done.
my other project will be sound deadening, don’t want to go too overboard and run up a huge bill but I think I can afford an extra $600 dollars
