[New] Jazz Hybrid Shuts Off AC at Stoplights?

Hi!

I went to see a 2013 Jazz Hybrid today. I was told it was a good reliable car.

The seller, which knew almost nothing about her own car, mentions that she "turns off the hybrid mode because the AC won't be cold at stoplights".

So, if the Hybrid mode is on (weird that this is even an option), the AC compressor won't work? I know it can still blow air, but not cold air.

Which makes me think - this car's AC does not run off the ELECTRIC system?

I know that in the Yaris Hybrid, the AC runs from the battery (which makes the AC super cold by the way). Is it not the case with the Jazz Hybrid?

Thanks

PS - if anyone knows of a good deep technical dive into the Hybrid system of the Jazz Hybrid - I would appreciate a link (I love that stuff).

The reason the AC turns off is because the compressor is driven off the engine. So when engine turns off in hybrid mode so does AC.

Second gen hybrid (2014 - 2022) uses an electric AC compressor that continues to run when the engine shuts off and is powered by the high voltage hybrid battery pack.

Thank you. Don't you mean the THIRD gen?

Yes it is the third generation Fit but the i-dcd(2014-2019) was the second iteration of the "hybrid" Fit. What you tested was the IMA which is the first "hybrid" Fit. Thats why i said "second gen HYBRID".
