My gas cap tether broke. 2012 Fit is 11 years old, so it’s to be expected. I’m fine without it, but curious.

Are you able to replace the tether only on the gas cap? Thanks.

 

2012 also. Mine broke about a year ago. I assume you have to buy a whole new gas cap.

 

I called dealer and they said whole new gas cap. $48 bucks! 😜 No way. I’ll be fine without a new gas cap.

I found this video on YT and it appears you can get the tether part. Likely aftermarket. Unfortunately, person didn't post link to part used.

 

I bet it’s OEM. Looks easy enough to replace if you find one. I may look.
