What maintenance should I do to my fit?

I have a 2013 fit with the 5 speed manual. I have had it since about 60k miles. I have done oil changes, a brake job, sway bar links, and spark plugs because one of them just blew out of the engine block while I was driving. Mechanic was able to re sleeve it and then change all the plugs. I want this car to last 300k+ miles. It now has almost 106k miles on it. What maintenance do you think I should do at this mileage?

Thanks.

Clutch & brake fluid. Trans fluid. Valve clearance was checked ever? Coolant replacement? I just bought a 2012 Fit sport 5spd with 109K, and did all the fluids, new spark plugs torqued to 20ft/lbs, and checked/adjusted valves so I know it's all been serviced. Valves were almost all in spec, but good to know they are now.
I too would like my Fit to last 300k+. I bought the car so I can haul around our baby, and I would love for her to drive this Fit when she is 16.

You have a clutch reservoir under the hood that operates the clutch in the same way the brakes work. You push the brake or clutch pedal, non-compressible fluid moves through various tubes and hoses, and the brakes or clutch are engaged/disengaged.

Generally you use brake fluid in the clutch reservoir, but just like the brakes you should change/flush and bleed the clutch system at prescribed intervals.

Your owner's manual has a complete service schedule with mileage and time intervals. That would be the ideal place to start planning maintenance.

Since you're in UT, where I don't think they spread winter salt like candy at a parade, you may have a chance of seeing 300K miles. PittsPete, like the rest of us in the Northeast or Midwest, will find that rust prevention and mitigation is the biggest threat to a long car lifespan.

My car was undercoated when new and it seems to have helped a lot! Body isn't rusted and besides the control arms and spindles, no rust. So I'm working on cleaning and painted everything underneath. But yes, rust will be my main thing to keep at bay!

I find it ironic how the OP's location is Salt lake city.. yet the thread turned into rust prevention.

The Great Salt Lake is drying up, so we'll have to see who dies first, the lake or the Fit.

Well, since I brought it up, I'll just say that for much of my (auto) life I've lived in places where rust prevention is nearly as important as regular oil changes, tire rotations, etc. for keeping a vehicle on the road for more than a few years. When I was a kid in the Midwest it was just a given that any vehicle (especially truck) over 3-4 years old would have rot and panel perforation.

Consequently, whenever I see a question about maintenance or "how to keep my car running to 200K-300K-400K miles?" my thoughts turn quickly to rust prevention. While I find there are a surprising number of folks who know little about general auto maintenance, that number is dwarfed by the people who never think to (at a minimum) spray some water underneath their car every once in a while.
