Now its fog lights(2010 Sport)

We bought our fit with broken fog light lenses. I thought, no biggies, this cannot be a hard thing to replace.....

Live and learn I suppose. So far, I have bought two sets of replacement lights and neither of them have been correct. I am buying the lense/bulb housing only, not the entire assembly that Honda sells for well over 200 apiece.

Has anyone else had to replace these units? I am thinking the sport is different than the base model or maybe we have some dealer installed units......

In any case, I am trying to avoid spending $500 on OEM fog lights....I am even considering just blanking them off or turning them into brake cooling ducts at this point.

You can't buy the lens only. They are only sold as completes.

Break the lens? Replace the complete unit. That is how it goes. They do have aftermarket DEPOT fog light replacements that are cheaper than Honda. That is your cheapest option for replacement.

Check on Rock Auto. I'm on my second replacement right fog light. Left is still original. Both times, replaced it because lens was cracked.

After the first one cracked, I put some kind of transparent plastic protector on both fog lights. Got another rock and the right lens cracked again, but this time it held together. Drove for a while like this before getting a replacement.

Also, look online for a 5 % discount code if you buy on Rock Auto...

I can only speak for what I have- which is a '13 sport. The '12/'13 sport model has as I remember one screw holding the fog light plastic housing to the front bumper. The other end of the housing has two little feet that anchor it to the bumper with the other end having the screw. I had to replace the pass side just after I bought the car used.. I found a used oem replacement on Ebay. I also bought and applied a clear tape applique on each bulb before re-installation that I found mentioned on Youtube.

I would start off by removing one cracked light assembly and seperate it from the housing. Familiarize yourself with what it looks like and what fits your car.. Make sure you wire tie the fog light wiring up out of the way so it doesn't get damaged before fog light replacement.

As far as the incorrect replacement bulb assemblies you bought, why not return them for a refund? If they were advertised on the internet as fitting your car and they don't- that's on the person selling them to you.
