Hello, hoping to best document my progress on this 2010 Honda Fit Sport 5MT I've been driving for a little bit. Picked up this pretty rough example of Facebook marketplace for what seemed to be a little too cheap, but despite the 284k mile red flag in the gauge cluster the car was decently clean body wise and drove well enough to pick It up.
Picked up the car early October 2023, and immediately started hunting down wheels & suspension off Yahoo Auctions Japan. First to arrive was a set of gold OG Rays 57C Wheels 15" 6.5j +38, accompanied by a secondhand set of BLITZ ZZ-R Coilovers & a new CUSCO rear sway bar. I knew out of the box I wanted the ride height to sit lower while remaining comfort on the street, these blitz coilovers were able to get my height much better while the soft spring rates remain bearable even on harsh Boston pothole ridden streets. Definitely recommend these if you can get a set, priced similar to BC racing but much higher quality and feel. The cusco rear bar was a must, having read about the benefits to chassis feel and cornering with the addition of rear anti roll bar, and can attest that it does improve the feel of the car that much. The wheels were a nod to the classic black on gold color scheme found on clean street car modified civics in the early 00's. The 5% tint was pulled all around to give a more vintage look with the fishbowl.
As this was my daily driver in New England through the winter, the fit received some studless 195/55/15 snow tires which saw quite a bit of action and never left me stranded
Drove the car as is throughout winter like this, including a trip to Brooklyn NY & back on this setup. As spring started to come around, I decided I wanted to try out a 16" diameter wheel on the car with a smaller tire. I sourced a set of WMB (Work Metallic Bright) Work OG CR Kai wheels in 16" 7j +35 off of auctions, along with some fresh red JDM GE6 tail lights to clean up the look of the car. I decided it was time to scoop up an HKS axle back muffler too to add a bit more noise to the driving experience, and I found that it added very little at all. This is the quietest exhaust I have ever heard and I kind of like that. The 1.5L L series engine still manages to sound deep & rumbly, and quiet.
Interior changes! I had picked up a set of blue roadrunners checkered floor mats soon after purchasing the car, but until this point had left the rest of the interior alone. Summer 2024 the car received a pair of Bride Zeta II bucket seats on buddy club & J's Racing seat rails. As for steering, a Nardi Personal 330mm wheel fitted onto a steering solutions hub with cruise control relocation kit + works bell spacer keep controls on. Dress up included a blue dash mat from some generic online seller Ive already forgotten the name of, but if you google "GE8 dash mat" I'm sure one similar will pop up. Around this time somehow a set of alliexpress "spoon" style mirrors found their way onto my door's hmm I wonder how that may have happened *suspicious emoji*
Last touches were a mugen GP2 Shuttle illumination Hybrid front grille, wired to light up "hybrid" with the headlight signal to show all that may bear witness. Front camber bolts maxed the f out were able to resolve the rubbing issues I'd had practically the whole time I had lowered the car up front. I also picked up a BLITZ SUS-Power Air Intake + filter which quite honestly makes more noise than the exhaust does. The car is super quiet still but under wide open throttle at high RPM'S the engine induction noise gets quite loud, making the VTEC crossover point sound & feel even more distinct. Huge Fan personally. Ended up paint matching the Mugen grill black as well to blend the front of the car together better.
OG 15" 6.5J VOLK TE37 test fit, these will be getting a set of snow tires for winter use because I am insane.

question on your Shuttle grill, did you need to trim your bumper for it to fit? I know it fits fine on the newer models with the wider grill. I have an '00 like yours and love the grill - if I can find one for sale..lol
Thanks! You're correct it actually for a facelift bumper which i found out after i had imported it... I did end up having to trim the pre-facelift sport bumper to match the grille line, bit of a gap IRL but for my "beater" daily driver I can live with it. Definitely a 10 footer and I would pick up a facelift bumper + paint match that if I really cared
Besides the bumper issue, how hard was it attaching that Mugen grille? I only ask because I keep looking at pictures and it seems there are more than one style of clip attachment spacing. Maybe the change came with the model year facelift? I have a '12 and I do have an aftermarket grille on order.... I guess I'll know if it fits when it gets here LOL.
Just over a year since my last update on the car, It is still going strong with some neat plans for the future. Picking up where last left of, I daily drove it throughout winter 2024-25 on the 15" TE37 setup
Small fender bender one icy morning commuting to work resulted in a front end collision. Radiator support got pushed back 4 inches or so, shattered the mugen shuttle grill, and hood and bumper were folded. Managed to limp the car to work still and was able to source a matching black 13' Sport facelift front at a local junkyard. The car was back in cosmetic order that same evening with a bracket I made to extend the headlight mount to the core support. I continued to daily drive the fit like this for the majority of 2025 without much change, I did end up replacing the front subframe to remedy a clunk I was experiencing due to a blown out bearing on the passenger side of the rack.

Currently waiting on a large amount of parts from Japan for the next phase, most notably a complete Mugen aero kit including GP2 shuttle front lip, side skirts, rear spoiler, rain guards, and JDM short rear conversion bumper + lip. I have a set of Junyan Altezza euro style tails and GP1 chrome trunk trim + matching front grill from a shuttle as well to try out. Should be getting it shipped soon and have updates on the car in the coming weeks. Thanks for keeping up if you made it this far!
284,000 miles, mine only has 278k on it. Still a great car even though it's an automatic. And yours is much cleaner. Nice build you got going... i'd say stop and make sure you got maintenance covered before you spend any more on mods though..Also why are you going through wheels like a lady does shoes?
@MeanMan HA, would you be surprised to find out it's crossed over 334k miles now? All maintenance is up to date I just don't usually post that sort of update on here. I also have picked up another few sets with the intention of running on my fit since. Spend quite a bit of time hunting down parts on Yahoo Auctions Japan for fun and sometimes a deal is too good to pass up on
