I accidentally deprogrammed ALL of my keys
2013 Fit LX. I had 2 keys when this story started.
Key 1 worked as a physical key, but not electronic lock/unlock/panic. I tried swapping the battery and that didn't work, so I let it be - didn't want to pay for a dealer to make a new one.
Key 2 worked fine until recently, the battery was ready to call it quits (range decreasing).
I bought some CR1616 batteries, and saw a that there were replacement keys available on Amazon, so I bought one thinking I could pull the guts out, and put them in my old Key 1, so that I wouldn't need to cut a new key.
Today I did the 'operation' and swapped the key guts, and went to program this key (using this method: https://www.hondaofturnersville.com/...rammed%20ready.)
At one point the vehicle entered 'remote programming mode' but I guess something went wrong - the key never paired successfully. Now Key 1 is still broken (and doesn't even work physically because the immobilizer is on board the chip), and Key 2 is broken electronically too (still works physically).
Questions:
1) Is there an easy repair for Key 2, to get it back to working?
2) Is it actually possible to swap key guts and program them like I tried?

You can program the key so it will lock/unlock doors yourself.
But for the immobilizer to work, you need a special tool, so dealer or some locksmith can do it.
EDIT: Also, you can only program 2 keys to the car. So if you program one, there is one of the older one that will get erased from car memory.

As far as the immobilizers, I know I could have 3 connected on my Accord (2 fobs and 1 valet key). Note sure about the Fit.
So, at the end, seems I didn't know what I am talking about!

I'm guessing the answer to question 1 is you probably just needed new batteries in your original 2 keys and then you needed to use the programming link you provided to re-program both those keys again- at the same time, for them to both work.
The answer to question 2 is no. The new key you bought needs to have a Honda dealer or a locksmith program the new key chip in it, to your immobilizer system, before it will work. That's also assuming the new key you bought has the same FCC # and model # as your original key. Those numbers are on the backside of the original plastic key case, and need to match the new key case numbers..
