L13Z1 to L15(?) swap help!

Hey guys!
New to Jazz's but no stranger to Honda's. Currently running a '08 ge6 M/T.

First off, regarding swapping engines, I have done this in the past with a ek civic so I've got a rough idea of what I'll need to look out for.

The main things I need to know for this to happen is i need to find the ecm/pcm pinouts so that I know what connector and wire does what. I've looked through the factory manual that I downloaded off of this site and I can't for the life of me find any pictures of connector pinouts or any wiring descriptions. So if someone knows what page it's on I would greatly appreciate that!

Second thing i need help with is picking a L15 motor. Since mine is a L13Z1 with i-VTEC, which L15 motor would make for the easiest swap electrical wise, so ECM to BCM wise. I'm hoping that just swapping in a motor with its dedicated ECM shouldn't cause too many misfits with the BCM, but yet again, the last swap I did was on a '99 civic so it's alot different. If anyone has the knowledge with ECM and BCM compatibility, that would be mint!

And last but not least, manual transmission! Mines got a manual 5 speep, but surely there is a 6 speed option for the L series, unless I can direct bolt on a 6 speed from another honda that would be compatible?

Cheers! 😁

You'd be so much better off buying one that has a 1.5 rather than trying to do this the ridiculous way. If you were going through all this effort why not K swap? Lots more material on the matter. The only 6 speed GE series I'm aware of is the RS trim in Japan, the rest are 5 speed. And it's not a ton of difference anyway. If it's anything like the 6 speed in the GK then the final drive is exactly the same in 6th as it is in 5th on the GE.

Wiring pinouts will be different, I can almost guarantee it. So short of laying hands on all of the components you won't have a plug and play operation.

Thanks Red. Reason for not k swapping is cause im looking for a cheaper source of power. And also wanting less weight aswell because I'm building my jazz for dirt rally. I do have plans on turboing, but I'm wanting to get the planning done first before all that. I'm happy to keep the 5 speed, I was just whinging cause of how high it revs on the highway but I can get over that haha. Would I be better of finding a l15 bottom end and just swap out that and then attach a flashpro to tune accordingly?

Look up VTEC Academy on the internet. The owner, Brian Gillespie, did a K24 swap with a stick shift in a Gen 2 Fit. He also did a couple of internet segments going over the installation and details of the swap.

This referral may not be totally on point, but it does point you in a direction and answers a lot of questions about swapping a Gen 2 Fit.
