Drive Belt aka Serpentine Belt and Tensioner

In addition to visually inspecting the belt for cracks and other forms of wear, there is a way to tell if your belt needs to be replaced.

There is also a way to assess the condition of your belt tensioner.

That's really good information. I've always just gone with the "If I see cracks or hear squeals, it's time to change it!"

@Detergentcandy I know what you mean. After watching way too many YouTube videos, I was all set to change out my belt and my tensioner. Had the parts in hand and ready to go. Then, I thought, "Wait a minute. Why don't I follow the advice that I'm always giving to everyone else and check the Service Manual." Both my belt and tensioner were spot-on "Normal."

I also posted this because I wanted a subject line that any dummy like me could find in a forum search.
