2013 Fit Sport sudden check engine light on and D on console flashing.
I stopped for a snack for less than 10 minutes and when I got back out to the car and turned it on the check engine light was suddenly on and the D on the console was flashing. The car did not appear to have any trouble driving and there was no problems I could detect with it. I even managed to drive it home for about 45 minutes at 60 to 70 mile per hour what's the cruise control on and had no trouble. I took it to my uncle who had an OBD reader and these are the codes that he got.
Can you guys please tell me what's going on and what parts I need to fix it with preferably part numbers so I can order some and have this car repaired within the next week
max. My job is an Uber driver and it's the only reliable way I have to make money so I need this car back up and running.
According to the service manual diagram, Pressure Switch B has ground on one side and a signal wire (to the PCM) on the other. A low circuit could be caused by a stuck switch, or the signal wire shorted to ground.
The Brake Pedal Position Switch is the same switch that turns on your brake lights. If your brake lights are working properly, it's a wiring problem.
Since the car is driving fine, I would clear the codes and see how long it takes for them to come come back.
It stopped the next day. Then there was no issue with it until a few days ago when it did it again for a couple of hours then it stopped again. It currently has not started up again. Do you think getting a new battery could help the very sporadic issue or do you think it's something else?
When we got the code for the brake pedal we tested the brake lights and all three of them lit up perfectly.
Did the problem re-appear at night (exterior lights on)? Or maybe during a lot of parking lot maneuvering (electric power steering use)? If not, the battery is probably fine. You could get it checked out by an auto parts store - they often have a tester that clips on the battery while it's still in the car.
Check the ECM/PCM connectors and wiring for corrosion or obvious mechanical damage.
Which CAN module is producing each of those error codes?
