Who has the highest mileage Fit, any generation, any year, any trim. Just curious what's floating around on the forum. I'll start, 2009 Fit Sport (auto) 278,638 miles on the clock. In desperate need of valve lash adjustment too... averages 41.3mpg. (mostly highway miles)
That's the thing, the way I have seen some track the cars, abuse through neglect these things the older NA L15A's... sure they're weak engines, rods look like they belong in a lawn mower, but they just GO, and they don't mind the abuse... so if you take care of one from a low mileage state...good grief!
I'm running a 2009 sport automatic inherited by my mother with 250k moderately maintenance miles and now has 269 k and I just slapped a GT 2871 running 9 lb of boost on it tuned by me running like a top all stock internals of course the first thing I did when I got it from her is a valve job right away adjustment sorry changed every fluid including transmission fluid multiple times I love it I wish it was manual but I got the car for free so I cannot complain. I guess I'm going to be the first person to do a 5-speed swap write up on it because I can't find one to save my life
Hit 300,000 last week (‘09 Sport MT). Definitely in need of a valve adjustment as she ticks like a toaster oven.
Cat is also toast, though I kinda lucked out on the inspection. Got a P0420 back in May last year, which of course was right as my emissions inspection was due. Had to fail it as I was tight on money, so I got 90 days to get it fixed. Well one morning the light turned off—I guess cruising the previous day at 85 mph for an hour in 80 degree heat was enough to bring the sensor readings just a hair within spec. That morning I had to run to a supplier to pick up equipment for work, and that supplier just happened to be across the road from the self-service inspection kiosk (my state inspection just requires an OBDII scan). After getting what I needed, I saw that the CEL was still off so I decided to try my luck. Sure enough I passed! No joke, less than 15 minutes later on my way to my first job the CEL came back on with the cat code, but legally I’m good until 2027.
Transmission still works great, though I’m on my third slave cylinder and second master cylinder. Somehow the factory clutch is still holding up, no slipping at all. I credit that to my pathological aversion to riding the clutch, which might make for a jerkier ride in traffic but has certainly stretched the life of the friction disc.
Replaced the rear hub/bearing assemblies two years ago. On my 4th set of brake rotors and 5th set of pads (the rotors always seem to get warped by the time the wear indicator on the pads starts to squeak). Replaced my plugs and coils a few weeks ago (in my driveway in 10 degree weather), which would put me on my 4th set by now.
Interior is about as worn as you'd expect, though honestly in better condition than my mom's 2017 Prius (the fake leather steering wheel on that car is already starting to disintegrate). Only issue is the EQ/balancer options button that no longer works except in very cold weather. One of these days I'll pull out the head unit and try to figure out what's wrong with that button.
I can't beat 700K+ but my 2008 Honda Fit Sport is at 471K and counting. I bought it new in Jan 2008 (in Cookeville, TN) and have maintained it with regular PMs (Huntsville, AL at Shottenkirk's Honda) and needed maintenance, which has mainly been chassis work for regular wear/tear, sensors, etc. No transmission or engine replacements or major repairs. The CAT is gone and the TMS needs replacement or batteries?; the power steering goes out intermittently but comes back on when the lights turn on (?); replaced the water pump at 320+K as a prevention measure only. The AC had problems that turned out to be a relay not the compressor. She's been through many tires, just replaced the coils and plugs for the 3rd time; replaced rotors once or twice, replaced brake calipers last year, replaced a cracked windshield (rock damage). She's been in two deer strikes, one four-car pile-up, and several fender benders, but was only totaled when the last deer strike did body damage in 2024 (high mileage and age reduced its value to $2500) costing ~$2000. I took the salvage price and fixed it myself. It is currently a little jerky when I accelerate to pass or climb hills, so I thought it was the coils/plugs (they were in need with 170K+ miles on them), but now seeing that I may need to look into valves (never adjusted), injectors, or fuel line issues. It's otherwise running like a top! Still getting 35-40 mpg on highway. I'm trying to get it to 500K but now I see that I may be underestimating its longevity!!!
