132k mileage worth it?

I went to look at a 2007 Honda Fit Sport today which has 132k miles on it. The asking price is $8k. Is this a good or bad deal? A few people I've talked to says that the mileage is the dealbreaker.

My usage of it will be very light since I take public transportation to and from work.

Offer them 6.5k, don't spend over 7.2k. Car ought to be good for another 100k miles (and then some), 132k isn't too bad for a 6 year old Honda...

I agree. I was going to say to offer 6k and don't go over 7K. I agonized over a 2009 with 13 k miles advertized at $11,900. I finally offered 10K and he countered at 10.5k. When a said 10K was my best offer, he took it. Above 7 K you will have to decide if it is worth it to you.

Well, I have a 2008 Honda fit sport that, when bought, had 128,000 miles. In my opinion it runs and drives perfectly fine, so miles aren't too much of an issue. Considering the fit wouldn't even be getting heavy usage, since you said you wouldn't use it often, I feel that the mileage should not be much of a concern. From a price standpoint, I'm not quite sure, but at least you know that the fit can last no matter the mileage when routine maintenance is performed I hope I helped at least a little, good luck!

The problem with buying it with 132k is do you know that routine maintenance was performed properly and regularly by the previous owner?

Friend at work has a '92 Accord with 290,000 miles, I've driven the car and wouldn't hesitate to purchase it.
