headlights question
#2
Is it a problem or an operating characteristic?
The headlights on my '09 may need to be adjusted upward for better lighting. Should not be too difficult. It was simple on my '08 Mazda CX-9 with HID's.
On another note, can some '09 owners check their Fits for this characteristic: Each time my A/C compressor kicks on at night with the headlights on, the lights dim slightly due to a presumed voltage drop, and my HVAC fan slows a slight bit under the same conditions.
At first, I thought it may be related to idle speed, but I don't think so, as the brief dimming of the headlights occurs at higher speeds also. It's fairly noticeably while I drive, especially with how low the headlights are aimed from the factory.
Am I looking at a voltage regulation issue, or is the dimming simply due to the horsepower drain of the A/C compressor on the small displacement engine, or can it be due to the small size of the battery (which shouldn't matter if the electrical system is charging properly).
My car idles rock sold at about 800 rpm with the lights on or off, and with the A/C on or off, it maintains a stable and smooth idle speed even when the A/C and rear defogger are used simultaneously. The issue is not resulting from low or erratic idle speed.
The A/C compressor turns quietly and operates well, it doesn't appear to be drawing excessive amps. That's basically all my observations on the issue.
I hate to have the dealer mess with it when it may not be a repair issue. So, thanks in advance for checking to see if your Fit behaves this way.

No damn wonder the lights dim. My Pilot never did this.
Nevertheless, I will defend my Fit, for it is now a member of the family, imperfect like the rest of us, but no less valuable.
