First weekend with 2009 Sport SSM AT

The first weekend and 260 miles later here I am.
I installed the new all weather floor mats. Only the driver’s side has anchors.
Once a got over cutting the carpet on less than a one day old car it was easy. They have put marks in the rubber mat and the carpet where to cut. It took 5 min max I like them and they fit nice. Next wheel looks on. Now this week I will put on the new arm rest on the console. I got 30 mpg on the first tank AC on the whole time mixed driving some interstate 70 mph. I was pleased with that. I like the dead pedal the dash looks great at night. The head lights on low beam do not go out far enough but bright lights are good.
One 12v socket this will never work I really need more. The radio worked well with the ipod but I have switched to using a USB thumb drive. It has been fun to drive I really like the steering wheel but I do miss the vol controls for the radio in the steering wheel. I keep trying to turn off the radio with the vol knob what were they thinking. While going down big hill with the cruse control on it will down shift the AT to keep you at the right speed I liked that. I love 5sp AT Fit gets better gas mpg that the standard how great is that. Over all I am pleased with the car and I like the looks of the new model.

The said the AT would get the same/better MPG than the manual in the old one too, didn't turn out to be so.

I am ok if it does not get better mpg. I would get the AT any way I sit in too much traffic and I like the 5 speed AT. I am not saying it is for everyone.

I know. Everyone has their own reasons for the transmission they chose, nothing wrong with that.

Congrats on the new ride...lookin' good!

I currently have a taffeta white MT on order, which should arrive in early October. I didn't opt for the nav, as I thought it was a bit on the pricey side despite the fact that it comes bundled with VSA. The only minor annoyance is the only way to get wheel-mounted radio controls is to get the nav. I currently have this functionality, so I'm sure I'll go through a detox process and eventually get used to living without.

Otherwise, looking forward to the new Fit. Enjoy yours!

Pinball, how did you get those floor mats already? I've been calling and searching online last week and they said those mats won't be released for a week or so.

Can you tell us about the armrest - how big is the storage? Is it lined with rubber or is it just plastic? Is it mounted too high? I hear Honda won't install it on MTs because it will interfere with shifting.

Congrats on your new acquisition!

Breakaway Honda in Greenville SC got the mats for me.
I was pleasantly surprised since they were TBD online.
Arm rest storage 7 ½ long 2 ¼ deep 3 ½ wide I.D. Once I install it I will get other measurements for you.
It is lined with plastic.

Clearly not large enough to hold CDs, which was my main question. Thanks.

Congrats on the new Fit. I'm getting the all-weather mats as well but the dealer is including them in the price.
