At a local dealer the Base AUTO 2009 FIT goes for $16060 on window

The FIT is the cheapest car Honda makes anymore and it starts at 16K

That's with Destination charge, and not sure what the $40 difference is.

Then why didn't you simply buy the SI? Unless I don't understand your point. The SI is a cool car but it is FWD, not very powerful, and frankly, if you are lokking for PERFORMANCE there are many other, superior options. If your buying a Fit you may be like me: 48, male, owned numerous high performance sports cars, realized gasoline is a huge problem that is not going away, know the quality of Honda, Knows the Fit's ability to transform itself and it's practicality and versatality, and lastly and most importantly: it drives like a Baby Sports Car. OR you simply might be a 17 year old kid who has rich parents and likes funky cars! I can easily afford an SI, for me it's a waste of money.

Thanks Triton. I've been trying to find this information for the past 2 weeks. A local dealer stated he'd sell me a Fit for $300 over invoice, but I had no idea what the actual numbers were -- this helps a bunch!

I agree with you 100%, Slave. My story is actually similar to yours. I'm starting to get tired of the same members repeatedly dissing the 09s simply because they have the outgoing model. I would also think that every Fit owner would understand and love the Fit for what it is and not compared it to cars like the Civic.

These prices are correct AFTER you add $670 for the destination and handling.

I just bought my new '09 Fit Sport AT yesterday. I paid MSRP of 16,910 because I pre-ordered. If you didn't pre-order the dealer was charging $1,000 over MSRP as a "market adjustment". Good for me...bad for those who didn't pre-order. So far, I'm lovin' the '09.
