Anyone have a Fit with Manual Transmission AND Navigation?

I have a silver MT with NAVI on order with a build date of Sept. 29th. I called my dealer to see if there were any other colors that'd be here sooner, they said no... I wanted to consider Blue Sensation and White as other options for colors but they didn't even have any that I could order.

Anyone own a Fit with both MT and NAVI, yet? And if so, what color do you own?

I know there are AT with NAVI out there...

I had a Silver Non-NAV MT on order. Went to get my Accords oil changed and saw that they had a Silver with NAV & MT in the showroom...I bought it. I'm pretty happy that I got the one with NAV. So, yes, they are out there.

I don't own one, but while I was checking with dealers for a SSM AT sans Navi, I considered one in stock at a dealer in Knoxville (TN) - Crystal Black Pearl MT with Navi. So the MT with Navi are trickling out.

Congrats on the new ride. I have a quick question. Does the Fit's navi call out streets by name (e.g., turn right on Maple Ave)? Thanks!

Just got an '09 with Nav and yes, it does.

I saw a thread on this yesterday and was wondering myself as I never paid much attention. Unless there something strange with my 09 or my area, it does NOT call out the street names...I just checked. Just like my 06' accord, it would call out "take next right turn in 1/2 mile", "take slight left turn in 1/4 mile". Not once did it call out a single street/road by name for me in my little test run around the block 2min ago.

Oh, if it doesn't call out names, then it's definitely not worthy to me. It's really hard to judge exactly how far 400 feet is, especially when there are multiple exists clustered close together, and you need to be in the correct lane ahead of time to get to the correct exit. yes I have done that w/ a very old Garmin and I kept on missing the right exits. Now I have a newer one that does call out street names, it's been so much better. In the newest models they even have the live view where they will show you exactly which lane to be on, complete w/ high way signs to simulate the real world view. Too bad this new feature will not be in Fit's, but street name pronounceation is the most basic requirement for a navi for me.

Linux: can you double check your manual to make sure that maybe there's an option to turn on text-to-speech? My garmin allows you to choose which one you prefer. the Non-speech version uses real human voice. The text-to-speech version uses computer generated voice (not as bad as Steve Hawking's but still w/ a bit mechanical "twang"). Oh, never mind you were just test-driving...

Can any other navi Fitters confirm this situation one way or the other?

Surviver -- I was just testing out the navigation feature in the above note. I do own the 09 NAV Fit. I'm just about to head out the door, but I will be happy to check out the manual and the options and will report back tonight. BTW: the visuals presented when a turn is coming makes it very easy to ensure you are in the correct lane from my experience. The text-to-speech feature would certainly be nice, but a quick glance has been more than enough for me nail the correct turns in very busy areas. Gotta run...

Hmmm... no deal. Still just "left" "right", "exit 200", etc. I didn't see anything in the manual to change thing either. Though, I did just notice on the way home, the voice did call out a major highway, "90 east in two miles..". Though the minor roads are still not called out by name. Take care.

Hmm, that's a bummer! Thanks Linux for testing it. It's so strange that some people says otherwise, and in another thread I specifically asked for named street ("Sunset blvd" vs. I-95). Maybe they changed the software during their subsequent shipments? If so, next time when you buy an update disc you should see the new feature.

This is very disappointing to learn, especially since a Garmin (or comparable brand) offers this feature, and, quite often, bluetooth, for under $300. I've stated this before, but unless someone must have VSA and a built-in gps unit, I find it challenging to make a compelling case to purchase the factory navi for nearly $2k. Technology is rapidly changing in the gps arena, causing prices on aftermarket units to drop every 6 months. Simply put, the Honda navi will not hold its value after several years, as their technology won't be immune to the advances in the gps market.

I already said this earlier in the thread but I went out again last night to make sure. I have an '09 Fit Sport Auto with Nav, I live in Las Vegas, and it does indeed say the names of EVERY upcoming street you turn on. For instance last night, it said "In a half mile, take a left turn on Stephanie Street"

weird - I wonder if it has something to do with the areas that I tested mine in?

Yeah that is possible, I mean I'm in a big city where the nav SHOULD be fully aware of all the street names. But yeah, I even remember from last night...the street right next to my house is called "Paseo Verde", and the Nav even called that one out, although it did not use the correct Spanish pronunciation.

Mystery solved --> pg. 74 of the navigation manual. The default for "Guidance Prompt" option is HIGH which will use street names in the guidance phrase. My Fit was on the showroom and someone must have changed this option as it was set to "Normal", which does not provide any street name prompts.
