Nothing you can do. It's not the GT-R, which has rev matching. That's why I never go into sports mode. Just leave it in manual. I miss doing heel and toe... Lol!

two words: engine breaking. unless you're stepping on the gas, when you downshift and increase your rpms, you'll lurch forward until you give it more gas. that's just how it is.

well i mean, if you're slowing down to a stop, don't step on the gas or you're gonna rear-end whoever is in front of you. but if you're out on a drive and you come up to a turn and you want to downshift going into it, by all means lay on the gas. even tho you have control of the gears, you (and i) still drive an automatic transmission car. the gears won't grind or anything. i always apply gas when shift through the gears. apply gas and shift and you're going to get rear g-force, albeit a very small amount because we DO drive fits.

With the paddle shifters, I would be very cautious about downshifting if the revs aren't high enough -- that puts a "reverse load" on the drivetrain which, over time, puts wear on u-joints, bearings, etc. As an example, repeatedly down-shifting to 2nd gear while you approach corners at 40mph isn't wise. So, if you're feeling a lunge that moves your body as you downshift, you might wanna scrub some speed with the brakes before grabbing a handful of paddle.

if you are coming close to a stop, let the fit go into 1st gear by itself. you really don't want to downshift to first.

regular driving i love to downshift and feel the lurch then punch the accelerator. no harm there. just don't double downshift or else your rpm's will be too high.
