2009 MT owners...
Do you get any vibration from your engine or clutch pedal when shifting at a high RPM? I'm not sure if this is normal, but it happens around 4500+ rpms. Could I have a bad engine mount? Btw it doesn't effect driving.
Hi there, VanIslFit. Can I assume from your avatar that you ride a 'Wing? Or is that a K bike?
Greets from sunny Phoenix.

No way! Sunny? In Phoenix?
There seem to be quite a few bikers... er, motorcycle enthusiasts here.
The avatar is certainly a GL, though I can't tell whether 1800 or 1500.
Riding season is ending on Vancouver Island, but just starting in Phoenix.
What was this thread about? Oh, yeah. Sorry, I have an AT.

Yeah, some m/c enthusiasts here in spades! I am currently attending MMI and working at a Harley shop so my waking hours are spent around motorcycles. Not a bad thing. Mostly.
CBX, where in N Az?
On my 08' I get a slight vibration feedback in the clutch pedal and gas pedal while shifting. It's done it since day one, and doesn't happen all the time, just when I get into the rpm range above 4000. The service tech explained that it is characteristic of this particular car, and that the MT Civics and past two Civic Si's exhibit them too.
A few more quirks you may start to notice with your Fit is that as things begin to break in and settle, your shifting into 2nd gear may come with a popping out of first gear feeling and scratchingly going into 2nd. Your 3rd gear may be really notchy at high rpm shifts as well. Again, none of these things will occur with every shift, but they do show up from time to time.
I'm assuming just about everything is the same as far as the gearbox and mechanical components in the 1st and 2nd Gen Fits. I have yet to actually drive the new Fit so I can't say for sure. All in all, you should be able to get used to it all and adapt to the Fit's shifting.

I've searched hi and lo for references to this, and haven't come up with anything. Might have been a fabrication for all I know..
Would an imbalanced front tire transmit vibration through the clutch pedal on an MT?

Edit - I saw your your previous note about contributions to "your" thread", uh, just ignore the above thoughts and good luck.

Thanks 7red7. I have already gotten the first gear "pop". Sounds like its a normal thing then.
I don't think that its a tire out of balance, that would probabaly be felt in the brake pedal.

No vibration for me. I typically shift at 3,500 - 4,500 rpm. When I'm pushing it I go 4,500 - 6,500. I have about 2,400 miles on car and I did not notice vibration when car was new either.
Ok...so its not me...

4500 rpms? That seems high to me for shifting gears. I must be getting older and slower
.Hey Drewski, does the vibration you are experiencing happen when shifting sooner? It's probably not a bad idea to check with the dealer about it -warranty should cover any problem. Goodluck!
No vibration whatsoever with mine. Yours is obviously got a problem. With my last car (08 Accord Coupe 6MT) I think I had that problem. First of all the car was extremely difficult to get going when starting on any degree of incline. It would require a lot of revs otherwise you would get driveline shudder. Even starting from a level surface it was a bit difficult to engage 1st smoothly.
On top of that ever shift you can feel vibration on the clutch pedal at the top 1/2" of pedal travel. The higher the rpms you shift at, the more vibration there was.

My best advise would be to definitely have it checked out by the dealer and have em make sure they simulate exactly (or almost exactly) what you do to give the same symptoms. It can be minor or very serious, who knows.
Uh, no, because Honda of course told me it's normal. Yeah right. How come other Accords same as mine don't have the same characteristic? Driving that car with those weird issues made it feel unrefined, un Honda. Plus there were many rattles and clicking noises. Long story. Short ownership.
