License Plate Bracket

I picked up my new '09 TWB AT Sport yesterday from Indiana, which doesn't require a front license plate. However, I will be registering the vehicle Illinois which does require a front license plate. I don't like the thought of drilling holes in my front bumper, so I was wondering if someone could suggest a bracket to get and a good place to mount it. Thanks!

We bought our Fit today in Georgia which doesn't require front plates but we got it with the front plate holder. It seems like there are two holes on the underside of the front bumper in the same plane as the fog lights. If you get a plate holder from a dealer or somewhere, you should be able to bolt it via the existing holes.

Someone without a front plate holder should confirm if the same two holes exist though.

Yea there are just 2 bolts that hold the front license plate holder from the bottom of the bumper, look under the center of the bumper and there are 2 metal clips that attach to the bumper that hold the bolts, really easy to remove or put on.

My area doesn't require a front plate so the car was delivered with no front plate holder installed.

However, there was a holder in the cargo area with the spare. I can confirm that drilling is not required. It just bolts to the 2 holes under the bumper.

Does anyone know if the dealer drills these holes or are they drilled beforehand to comply with the laws of the state they are destine for?

I repeat. No drilling required.

There is molded slot type mounting built into the bumper (top of lower grill area).

Thanks for the replies everyone. I was able to confirm this morning that two molded slots do exist. I haven't owned a car in almost 4 years so simple things like this do have a tendency to escape me Thanks again!
