That's great except I question their judgment based on some of the other cars in this grouping

I don't understand where they saw that the FE has decreased. EPA puts it identical to last years, but in real world driving it looks like the 09s have slightly better FE than the outgoing model. Flawed review.

I may be mistaken, but I thought the new EPA mileage numbers were supposed to be more realistic. Can they still put the old numbers on the older cars while having to put the more realistic numbers on cars coming out now?

Yup, the new EPA ratings are theoretically supposed to reflect more real world driving figures. Yes, old cars will still retain their old EPA ratings. How would they rate them otherwise? I guess YMMV should be printed on the Fits' window stickers in large print, hehe.
