Vibrating clutch pedal anyone?

My clutch started to exhibit some kind of grinding feeling as I let up the clutch, mostly when the car is cold and releasing the clutch on 1st and 2nd.

I experienced this on my 08 Accord though on the Accord is was quite a bit more noticeable.

It just started about a week or so ago and got worse almost overnight. I hope it doesn't get any worse as I don't find it too annoying right now.

Just wondering what it is and if there's a fix. I think it may be the springy mechanism between the clutch and tranny.

I was just going to post something about this. It happens mostly on first gear for me (maybe cause i don't notice it in other gears while moving faster). As you release the pedal, i get this squeak/squealing sound. My fit is only 1 month old.

Yours squeaks, but does it have a very subtle vibration or grinding sensation while on the upstroke?

yup it's very noticeable now on first gear and somewhat on second gear. I thought it was just a new car thing but I guess not.

Glad I'm not the only one with this issue, though I was sure I couldn't be the only one, especially since my 08 Accord had the same stupid thing only worse.

I just took my car to the dealer for this and they turned me away with a "could not duplicate at this time." A-holes! They never want to do ANY warranty work.

I hope Honda issues a recall or some kind of fix for this, it's rather annoying. I just hope it won't cause problems down the line.

instead of name calling why dont you bother to think that in the 10 minute test drive that no one gets paid for they didn't find the problem. if you left the car over night there is still no guarantee that a fault would be found. how come if you go to a doctor and they run some tests but find no problem it not your a**hole doctors fault, but if you have a problem with your car and a mechanic cant fix it in 30 sec the internet is flooded with whining?

Flooded with whining? I said one little remark.

The vibration in my car is VERY apparent, not a normal thing. If a doctor told me I was fine when I was clearly sick I would think he's a quack. The tech that drove my car said he didn't feel anything. I have a friend who's a tech at a Ford dealer(same dealership basically) who told me they turn down people left and right because they don't want to be bothered finding any annoyances. This is the impression I got when I took my car in. All in all I wasted my own time, money and gas to go down there and got nothing in return.

Can't fix it in 30 seconds? Wtf? I wouldn't care if they had it for a week as long as the issue was taken care of.

Sorry I should have considered peoples feelings rather than be angry about my brand new car having problems.

It boggles my mind when for example I take my car to a dealer and have a tech try and verify a noise or vibration and they don't hear or feel it. Are they deaf? Numb on PCP? To me it's as plain as day.

On my 08 Accord, which the clutch pedal vibration was more prominent than my Fit's, the tech couldn't feel anything (I had to tell him to let up the clutch SLOWLY) and then I saw that he had thick rubber soles on his shoes. I told him to remove his shoe, and then he eventually felt it. Regardless, they concluded it's normal because the Accord 6MT is so powerful and its clutch is of the high performance variety.

Well I spoke to my tech friend today and he said the dealer I took my car to kinda sucks, and recommended me another one. He also said that the Ford Rangers have had the same problem and it is actually the pressure plate (couldn't be the flywheel because it's a hydraulic tranny).

So I will go to the other dealership on Monday morning and try to get this taken care of. I'm going to be super persistent this time; if they turn me down they are just turning down money that Honda will pay them. I will post updates after I speak to them next week.

Ditto that! If they diagnose the problem please share so we'll have some artillery to accompany us to the service dept.
