2009 Canadian Car of the Year contenders

Wheels.ca - 2009 Car of the Year: Small Car Over $18,000 - Canada's Most Trusted Auto Resource

Note the stopping distance of the 3 cars. Quite different from Car&Driver review.

Umm.... doesn't the 2009 Fit has vehicle stability control on the nav model? The article says it isn't available.

Nav and VSA aren't available in Canada.

Neither are map lights.

Anyways, this "car of the year award" means nothing to me.. every magazine, website has their own awards.. maybe a more respectable magazine (I've never heard of this wheels.ca lol) would raise my eyebrows.

What a strange group to choose from. I don't think they don't belong in the same category. The Matrix and the Vibe are even the same car!

Are you referring to the Fit's braking distance? 100 kmh to 0 is 62 mph to 0.

42 meters = 138.6 feet, which is congruent to Car and Driver's and Edmund's readings.
