I just applied Lamin-x today. Bought a 8" x 16" bulk film sheet. 40 mil thick for fog lights.(clear) $19.95 plus $9.14 shipping. Came with a small spritz bottle, squeegee and easy instructions. They also have smaller sizes if you don't want that much. ( I see it's on sale now for $17.96!)

That size sheet will make 8 lens covers. 5 down the left side and 3 on the right. So I have extras if or when needed. Instructions said to re squeegee edges in 24 hours, so I'm keeping the lights in my house overnight and will re squeegee and install in the morning. Also getting into the 20's tonight so adhesive will probably set up better inside. Once on, the lens is easy to trim with a blade.

My driver's side lens broke in the first week I had my Fit. I was waiting until the service manuals came available, but I found detailed install instructions for the fog light retrofit kit on College Hills' website.

I am seriously hoping I can remove the fog light similar to a bulb replacement without having to pull the whole bumper. In any case, does anyone have a part explosion to show whether the glass is a separately replaceable item or if I have to replace the whole fog light assembly. Any part numbers appreciated. Thanks!
I just found out I have a cracked fog lens on the driver side. Did you ordered it from the dealer or got it from somewhere else cheaper? How much did it ended up costing U? It seems easy enough for DIY replacement from this post. I just did the mesh on the air dam two days ago after reading the horror stories on the damaged condenser from road debris. Two days later I found this cracked lens. Now I truly understand the threat of flying rocks.

Yellow LaminX FTMFW. All fog and high beams are laminX'd in yellow on my rides, including my fit fog light lenses, all cracked, held together by the vinyl, works great.

A lil rubberized undercoating sound deadener material on the housings

Such a whore for yellow laminX on fogs and high beams, it works so well. I love the ouput, as fit has 4300k purple, and accord and RR have blue/white 6000k 35w HID. Excellent contrast. $5 for a 1 sq foot section.

Did you put epoxy on the cracked lens first before applying the film (Mine actually got a small hole on the lens)? Does it leave any adhesive residue after removing the film (in case the color fades later)?

good luck, my LaminX didn't even last a week, first big rain storm and water was all around the edges making it lift.

I just gave my fit a good spring cleaning today and noticed the right fog light was loose when I pressed on it. I took the unit out and saw the black plastic housing has some cracks in it where the screws are. Looks glueable.

But the lamin-x I put on the lens last Nov. is still stuck on just fine.

I epoxyd and gorilla glued the housing mount screw part back together. First fog light I lost it didn't even crack, it just shot the housing inside the bumper and broke the mount, I re-did the epoxy/gorilla glue combo while I just covered both cracked lenses with laminX as like a tape to keep them together and keep water and mousture out. The lights still work fine. Saves a lot of money. I would rather replace $5 laminx than 250+ dollar foglights. Its holding together well. Feels more sturdy in the grille with the sound deadener spray on the housings too.

I doubt the glass is replaceable.

When I did my yellow fog film, I noticed that it was glued on similar to the way the headlights are glued together. I doubt the part is sold separately.

I ended up putting glass sealant on the cracked fog lens. I also added a mesh protection. See my post:

Put a clear set of these on yesterday. Also a set on my xB. I will report back on how they hold up.

Well, I was washing my car today and noticed that my driver's side fog light is totally shattered. I knew I should have bought some Lamin-X sooner. I need to order a new housing, and I just wanted to make sure that if I order the left one, that it will be the driver's side. I assume that left always means driver's side and not left when looking from the front of the car, is this correct?

that sucks!!! sorry. Yes the left side of the car is the drivers side.
I just did 3m bulk film and cut out the shape of the lense myself on my fogs last week. It was cheap...I recommend doing it as soon as you replace your broken fog.

I got mine here. I did my hood and fogs. For the fogs all you would need is 6"x12" bulk piece and cut the shape of the lenses out of that. 6"x12" cost $4.00...can't complain about that.
Note: this is only 8 mil thick. Some places carry headlight and fog light film (20 mil) but of course its probably alot more. If something big enough bust through that 8 mil I think I am going to have more to worry about than a broken fog light.

Thanks for the info, but as soon as I noticed the broken one, I placed an order for the Headlight Armor that someone else had posted the link to. It's precut and looks like it'll get the job done. Hopefully the other one stays unbroken until it comes in. Those and the new fog should be here by Friday.

Don't assume because you have these films that you're ok. I installed some yellow lamin-x and shortly thereafter went on a 600 mile trip. A few days after arriving I noticed my left fog was trashed. Whatever I hit even took out the bulb.

I purchased a new unit and installed some of the leftover lamin-x only to notice that when you come to a stop it looks like your fogs are going to catch fire. The film starts to smoke. I have stock bulbs and left a perimeter of just under .5 inch all the way around the glass. I removed the film.

Not by any means. The film is just a deterrent from all the small stones that hit it. Anything about the size of a marble or larger will easily shatter even the thickest film (of course all dependent on the velocity the projectile is moving)

I would be careful with using any film with a stock regular bulb housing unit. The only reason I feel safe putting standard 8 mil thick 3m film on my fogs is because they don't get super hot due having LED H11 foglight bulbs.

Just got my replacement foglight and headlight armor film kit today. The headlight armor kit went on fairly easily, even though there are some very tiny bubbles in the film. I'm hoping they go away after a while. The recommended using a vinyl conditioner on them every month, so I'm going to try that and see how long they hold up. They seem like they would work pretty well against even average size rocks, I hope so anyway.

What brand of LED foglight did you get? I would like to get some, but I want them to match the color of the stock bulbs.

I got my LED H11's here.... Led's are toward the bottom of the page.
Headlights & Fog Lights

I got the cool white and they are not even close to stock look a lot more white/blueish. They match my LED cool white parking lights perfectly.
I believe they only carry Cool White, Amber, and Dark Blue LED foglight bulbs.
