New '09 Fit owner!
Congrats
BTW, I noticed your roof rack....it would be mighty helpful if you could do some MPG checks on how having a bike or whatever you put up there affects the MPG, especially on the highway. I've seen that it can significantly reduce the fuel economy, but the numbers out there are still a bit unreliable =p.

Congrats on the new Fit. I also have a new (hot off the boat) '09 Fit Sport in Taffeta White. It had 3 miles on the ODO (mfgd.10/08) and I now have about 100+ miles. Can't get enough behind the wheel time. But I'll remedy soon. Super fun car to drive. I have a bit of heartburn over, 1. no splash guards available for the Sport. 2. No instrumentation (oil press/water temp/volts) Working the search thing like crazy for pillar pod or something similar and Autometer gauges. If anyone knows of such, let me know. I can't stand "Idiot Lights". Want to know what is going on all the time not when it's too late.
if you go to yakima.com, they specify:
Q Towers
Part # 8000124
Q99 Clips
Part # 8000699
and 48" crossbars
They say you need the newest Q towers which look almost identical to the older ones, so be careful (make sure you get part # 8000124).
moosejaw.com has a 20% off sale right now so you could save some $$$ that way.

Congratulations! And welcome to FitFreak.
Higher octane is for high compression engines.
The FIT was designed for 87 octane. Using higher octane is just throwing your money away. Spend that money on quality 87 octane with good detergents.

x2. 90% of the time, unless you drive a turbocharged car, a 1968 Hemi Cuda with high compression, a Ferrari, or the like, premium gas is a total waste. No way it makes any significant difference in a car like a Fit. Psychologically, maybe.
Congrats on your shiny new car! I know on I-75 you cannot drive at less than 70 mph speed w/o being run over. I personally like to cruise around 65-70. Most folks drive over 80 here.
I haven't driven much long distance yet, but my mileage isn't that good - 33 on the trip computer, which translate to about 29 in real life (haven't used up my first tank yet). A lot of my driving thus far has been in town driving - many short errands, and bumper-to-bumper traffic situations. Besides for over 200 miles I have driven, right out of the dealer lot, w/ 4 semi-flattened tires (25 psi). Dam Ed Voyles didn't fill them up like they said they did in the delivery check sheet.
I only noticed that when the tire pressure monitor lit up. I am sure that low tire pressure has a lot to do w/ my low mileage. I hope my next tank will be better.

BTW, I bought the Fit w/o test driving it or even seen the orange color in person. I was rather disappointed a bit after I see the real one - the color is more coppery than gold. It's still pretty but any darker I would call it a "brown" car. My favorate color for the Fit is the lavendar color on JDM model. It's such a unique and feminine beauty! Americans are so conservative (and boring) they can't accept cars wearing other than the Mao Suit!
