Leg Room

Well so Far i like my new fit BUT !!!!! i noticed after more than 30-40 min my legs start to get sore cause they are cramped up ... and also my foot hits that dead pedal spot when i shift . I have driven a focus since 2000 and never had this problem in both my 00 and 05 focus, . Im 6 ft 1 and was wondering if any one elses had this problem

Wow! I am an ex-GD3 owner, and I find every aspect of the driver area absolutely Won-Der-Ful by comparison. However, I am 5'8". At your height, you would hate being a GD3 owner.

I am the same height, and find it quite comfortable. I also like the extra headroom, compared with many other cars. Perhaps your hips are higher than normal, increasing your leg length!

Sorry! I couldn't resist.

I do think it will grown on you.

yep, leg room is definatly smaller. had a SUV previously, plenty of room. but when i switched, blah, whole diff story. as for the head room, AMAZING!!! you'd think that a small car woudn't have head room like that. but i fixked my leg room problem simply by moving the seat back. but this brought up another problem, the wheel is to damn far!!! UGH!!! so this brought to my mind, y not an arm rest? well wadya know, im making one in wood shop :] well im designin the plans right now but it will happen ;]

Have you tried pulling the telescopic wheel forward? There's a latch underneath that will allow you to adjust it. It's explained in the manual.

I'm 6'5"

And i wish i had a few more notches in the seat adjustment to stretch out my legs a bit. But, I love the headroom.

The Fit is designed for short legged Asians. ;-) If you are over 6 ft tall and 2/3 of yoru body goes to your legs then you will definitely have trouble w/ leg room. For normal people though i find it very comfy.

ok well today i had some time to play around with the car and i put up the arm rest and sat like i used to in my focus (leaning towards the passenger side ) after a 45 min ride my legs are good !!! But now my back is sore so im thinking i need the flip up arm rest !!! Also the back of the seats have what seem to be a plate that when pressed on are connected to the head rest . does any body know if that can be removed ?

thats wheel tilt pretty pointless buh meh. i do wish u can pull it closer to your bodi though, that would be real nice and remove the agony of long legs and reachin arms :]

Robodude was right- the GE8's have a TELECOPING Steering wheel. That means that you can pull the wheel closer or push it farther away. This is a second feature BESIDES tilt. The GD3's don't have it.
