New Owner!
Concerned New Owner
Hello fellow FitFreaks,
I'm a new driver and a proud owner of a 2007 A/T VBP Fit Sport. I've been hidden just reading information on the Fit for a few months now doing some research and I would say that I'm very content with the purchase of a Fit. Owning it for a little over a week now, I'm satisfied by the 'fun' feel it provides in comparison to my previous permit driving vehicle. Being that this is my first owned vehicle, I wish to provide the utmost care provided it is the largest investment I've made thus far.
Right now, I'm only driving in D until the vehicle has broken in (currently 269 miles).
There is something I noticed while driving the Fit, however. When maintaining a steady cruise speed and accelerating to switch lanes, I sense a very slight bit of hesitation and the engine revs quickly (a jump from 2k to 4k RPM) as if it lagged in response and caught up to my pedal touch.
It is almost as if the Fit has shifted down to comply with the accelerate quicker. Would this be the reason? Should I be worried? I generally tend to paddle shift to 5th gear to keep the RPM level down to the 1k-2k range, so the sound associated with the higher RPM is new and is probably why I am worried. Just needed some reassurance to those accustomed to their Fits.
Thanks in advanced everyone,
Prince

Hey dude, congrads on the Fit!! Im 16 and the Fit is my first car to. Ill start off by saying you made a smart choice, and this car is an awesome first car and an awesome car period.
When the car quikly jumps up 2k rpms on the freeway, its just shifting to a lower gear so the engine can get you up to speed. High revving is just something you will get used to. Its only 109HP so the little thing will rev it out sometimes especially up hills, but its completly normal.
