LOL. Yep, being 76 years old and never needing or using a horn must prove I'm doing something right !

already did the accord horn. still doesn't get the response I am looking for so I am going to keep that horn for peds, and for cars and trucks going to install a switch or a floor button for a set of hella supertunes in the 795Hz and 840Hz freq, give it a nice euro supercar sound. 118db, Double the sound pressure is a SPL of +6 dB. soooo nice!

I have a few sets of '60s vintage dual tone Mopar horns laying about. I plan to install those, because the sound is sweet.

Also, BMW makes a loud horn that has a nice tone. The nice thing about the Stebel, is that it is an actual air horn that is self contained and has the relay built in. The horn is an easy install, plug-and-play. You can find the Stebel on Ebay for under $40, and even a few at $20.
139db vs. 118db is a worthless comparison without the distance from the source that the decibel level was measured. The Wolo is a repackaged Nautilus, made by Stebel.

Regardless, I replaced my Wolo Bad Boy with the optional 4-note horn from a Cadillac Fleetwood. I bought a new relay from Radio Shack, and mounted it in a much more protected location than I had with the Wolo, as the terminals on the Wolo relay had rusted badly in less than a year since I had installed the horn.

The North American Fit's extended nose really gives a ton of room to mount horns between the bumper/grill and the radiator/core support. I mounted all 4 of the GM 4-note horns in this space, needing nothing "custom" except for some long bolts and a good number of washers. I'll have to take that upper panel off and snap some pics one of these days. They've been working great for 6 months.

Purchase price was roughly $50 shipped, used, cleaned up and painted from an eBay seller, including waterproof wiring pigtails. Added the relay and a couple lengths of wire, plus some misc. bolts and washers from Tractor Supply Company, and I was in business. Sounds great, especially in tunnels and parking garages

Same horn:

And a link to exactly what I received (slightly different price, but there are a ton on eBay if you search):

Horn?

After reading this thread I have concluded the Accord Horn sounds the best and is easiest to install? I am only posting because yesterday a man in a large white construction truck threw his car into reverse on my mother's neighborhood private driveway and almost hit me!! I honked the Fit horn like 4 times before he stopped. I thought I was a goner. Then some lady down the hill from where this incident occurred gave me a dirty look. I didn't realize the Fit horn was so weak I never really used it before.

I just thought I would share... I've been a poo-poo'er about getting a more robust horn. But, last week a guy backed into me while I was at a complete standstill HONKING FOR AT LEAST FIVE SECONDS.

My poor little car will take $4,700 and two weeks to fix. And then, I'M GETTING ME A LOUDER HORN.

Bah humbug to the original horn.

I am so sorry your Fit got hurt last week. I thought I was a goner too and I was a long ways away from the construction truck! I hope it gets fixed well.

Resurecting an old thread here, sorry...I want to put Stebel TM80 Magnum Hi / Low tones on my FIT. I Put these on my Kawasaki C14 and the cars have been forever leary! 136db claimed by Stebel. They are plenty loud in my book and a nice dual tone compared to that enemic OEM the FIT comes with!

Anyone else use these?

I've got these Hella Dual Tone horns 500hz that have been sitting in my desk drawer at work for about two weeks. I'll install them one day on lunch break.

Since it's relevant, I think its ok.

I've decided on the JDM Honda Bosch Euro horn, I just hope I can figure out the install...
And I will be adding another horn on a separate toggle switch (looking into airhorns) which will be used in extreme situations.
