is the fit emblem only held on with adhesive?

I'd like to remove it from the hatch, but I don't want to start and then find out there will be holes left behind. Is anyone aware of whether or not it is only stuck on with adhesive? Any info on this is greatly appreciated, ty.

Yes, adhesive only. Go for it.

Good info, youre 100% sure on this correct? Im picking up my Fit in a day or two and wondered about it myself.

If this is the case, hairdryer to soften the glue, and then dental floss or fishing line pulled through behind it and its OFF. Remove the remaing glue with goo-gone, and your golden.

I can't say I have looked closely at the emblem yet, but I have debadged all my cars in the past for the clean look.

Just double-side adhesive on the back of the emblem. Debadged mine on a warm day a couple weeks ago. If you lift it off as opposed to doing the dental floss trick and want to save the badge, try not to bend it too much between the letters.

That was fairly easy with a hairdryer and a plastic card. I used dental floss at first, but that wasn't strong and kept snapping. I got the emblem off all in one piece without damaging the paint, so i'm happy.

What about the H symbol right below the rear window... is that on there with adhesive only also?

I think so but I decided not to mess with that one. The black plastic panel that emblem is mounted to has a raised section that the H emblem mounts to, so it might look like something's missing if you remove that one.

I searched after I posted that question, and it looks like its actually on with tabs.

Since it also seems that it had a raised section... Im just gonna have to do the red emblem there. Will look sharp on my TW Fit... as soon as I get it.

I agree! That looks pretty sweet! But that's because that area is symmetrical...not sure if it would look just as good on the new fit since it's a bit curved...
